The moment after the good news

A client has approved the work and sent the deposit. You want to get started. Your accountant wants to know which project the money belongs to. When the reference is missing or unclear, a promising beginning turns into another round of messages. A useful payment experience makes that ordinary moment easier for both people.

Start with one real question

For a future SEPA collection trial, agree what you need to learn before changing every invoice. Can the customer recognise the recipient? Can your team match the payment to the right order? If something is unclear, who follows it up? A small rehearsal gives you an answer you can use. Tap Tap Go’s proposed SEPA access remains coming soon, subject to the partner programme and eligibility. Until that route is available and checked, keep your existing payment instructions.

Read it as your customer would

Put your next invoice on the screen and look only at the payment instructions. Would someone know which reference to copy? Would that reference mean anything to the colleague checking receipts next week? The best wording is the wording both people can use without a second explanation.

Give the rehearsal a finish line

For a future euro collection test, prepare one invoice, its expected reference and the record your team needs to match. Ask a colleague to connect the records without your help. Note where they hesitate and fix that detail before expanding the trial. SEPA access through Tap Tap Go is coming soon; this is preparation for an eligible, supported programme, not a request to send funds today.

Imagine this

Picture the first deposit

Imagine a design studio trying a supported euro collection route after launch. The deposit arrives, but the reference does not identify the project. The studio corrects its invoice wording before inviting more clients to use it. One small lesson saves several awkward follow-up calls.

Make it practical.
