Choose a controlled interruption

Practise with colleagues using sample material. Pause the screen at an agreed point and ask the presenter to continue the customer story without pretending the demonstration succeeded. They should explain the intended outcome, acknowledge the interruption and offer an appropriate next step. The exercise is about communication under a minor constraint, not proving technical resilience.

Prepare a modest backup

Keep an approved written sequence or static example available where appropriate. Make clear that a static illustration is not evidence of a completed live action. After the drill, identify the one preparation item that would have made recovery easier. Avoid building a complicated backup system for a simple conversation; the presenter should still be able to explain why the journey matters.

Imagine this

Hypothetical programme scene

Hypothetically, a sample display is disconnected halfway through a profile explanation. The presenter uses a short written journey to explain the recipient's next step, then offers a later demonstration. They keep the conversation useful without inventing a successful action.

Make it practical.
