Separate the relationship from the transaction
A prospect may first meet an employee through a card, then discuss requirements by email and complete an order through another business process. Do not imply that Tap Tap Go automatically sees or reconciles every later event. Confirm any integrations or supported status fields before designing the reporting workflow. The lead record should reflect evidence available to the team, with a clear owner for updates.
Close the loop deliberately
Record whether the discussion progressed, stopped or remains open, using the organisation’s agreed definitions. Retain the reason where it helps improve future introductions. A profile view is not a sale, and a promising conversation is not a completed agreement. The practical benefit of lead tracking is continuity: someone reviewing the relationship can understand what happened next without relying on memory or assigning commercial credit to a signal that does not prove the outcome.
A hypothetical scene
A prospect discovers a service through an employee’s profile but places an order through the company’s normal procurement channel. The account owner updates the relationship record using the confirmed business outcome, rather than assuming the profile system automatically knows the order was completed.
Make it practical.
