Write the ordinary reason
Describe what the payment is for in words that a colleague outside the original negotiation could understand. Reference the relevant invoice or agreement where appropriate. Keep it factual and avoid promotional phrases such as “investment opportunity” when the actual obligation is a straightforward purchase of agreed services or goods.
Check consistency across records
Compare the purpose sentence with the invoice, payee and internal approval. If those tell different stories, resolve the commercial question before seeking a route. Tap Tap Go’s planned SWIFT and crypto-to-bank services are coming soon. The eventual provider may require specific information; an internal purpose sentence helps preparation without replacing that process or guaranteeing acceptance.
An illustrative future scenario
Consider a studio paying an overseas production supplier in a future supported workflow. Its preparation note states the agreed production milestone and invoice reference, enabling another colleague to recognise the obligation without reading the entire creative brief.
Make it practical.
