Describe the real challenge
State the starting situation, the constraints and the work you were responsible for. Explain why the chosen approach made sense compared with an alternative. Specific process details are more useful than unsupported claims of transformation. If you do not have verified performance data, do not fill the gap with an estimate presented as fact. Describe observable delivery outcomes, such as a completed workflow, approved design or documented handover.
Make the limits visible
Clarify what the case study does and does not demonstrate. A successful launch does not automatically prove sustained customer demand. A client compliment does not establish a measurable sales increase. Where permission allows, include dated evidence or a client-approved quotation. Keep the account focused on decisions a future buyer can evaluate. The reader should leave understanding your method, not wondering whether impressive numbers were chosen for presentation value.
Hypothetical example
A hypothetical agency cannot disclose a client’s sales data. It explains how it reduced conflicting approval routes from several informal channels to one documented process, without claiming a revenue uplift. Screenshots show the delivered workflow using anonymised sample information.
Make it practical.
