Look for conflicting journeys

List the audiences you regularly meet and the action each should take. A public speaking organiser may need a biography, talk topics and availability. A prospective consulting client may need scope, case studies and an enquiry route. If both audiences can navigate one clearly organised page, maintain one profile. If their priorities compete or some material should remain private, separate destinations may reduce confusion and unnecessary disclosure.

Account for maintenance

Every additional profile creates another place where a phone number, role or document can become outdated. Assign an owner and a review date before creating it. Use recognisable naming so you can select the intended profile during a real conversation. If your platform supports multiple profiles, test the switching process before relying on it at an event. The recipient should understand which role you are presenting without needing an explanation.

Imagine this

Hypothetical example

A hypothetical entrepreneur has a public company profile and a separate speaking profile. Both use the same portrait and name, but only the speaking page offers organiser resources. A third profile is rejected because its content would merely duplicate the company page.

Make it practical.
