Make the decision
A prospective customer often needs to know whether you serve their area, not where you sleep. Build the location section around service area, meeting arrangements and time zone. A city or region may answer the initial question. If a physical visit is needed, decide when exact directions should be shared and who will receive them. Do not invent an office address or imply that a virtual location is a staffed customer reception.
Put it into practice
Audit the rest of the profile for indirect location disclosure. A map link, downloadable invoice sample or photograph of a delivery label may reveal more than the location field itself. For a home-based business, prepare a simple meeting instruction that can be sent after an appointment is agreed. Where address disclosure is legally required, obtain jurisdiction-specific guidance rather than relying on a generic website checklist. Keep the public description accurate about how visitors can actually meet you.
Hypothetical example
A remote designer lists Dubai and its time zone, offers video consultations, and sends a confirmed meeting venue privately. A sample invoice is replaced with a demonstration document that does not contain residential details. Clients still understand availability and meeting options.
Make it practical.
