Draw the balance journey
Ask the provider to describe how money moves from funding source to wallet, then from wallet to card spending. Write each step separately, even if the interface makes them look like one action. Find out which balance pays a purchase, whether allocation is manual, and how pending transactions appear. Request an example using the account currency you intend to use rather than relying on a generic demonstration.
Make the screen explain the restriction
A useful product should let you distinguish displayed value from available spending capacity. During evaluation, ask how reservations, limits and unfinished transfers affect each number. Note where a customer would look when a purchase does not complete. Prefer a clear explanation and traceable transaction record over a larger headline balance that leaves you guessing. Do not assume two amounts are interchangeable just because they sit on the same dashboard.
Hypothetical example
A hypothetical consultant sees money in a wallet but cannot fund a hotel purchase. The provider explains that a separate card allocation step remains incomplete. Her comparison worksheet now includes allocation time and visibility, making future provider demonstrations much more practical and easier to assess.
Make it practical.
