Start with the invoice conversation

List how clients currently pay, which currencies they use and the questions they ask before sending money. Identify whether the recurring problem is unclear instructions, unsuitable timing, missing references or an unsupported method. Then ask prospective providers about those specific needs. Adding another option is useful only if it solves a real problem; it can otherwise create more instructions, more records and more places where a payment question can become difficult to trace.

Keep the choice manageable

Offer supported methods with clear recipient details, currency and reference instructions. Explain how clients confirm they have paid and when you will acknowledge receipt through your verified records. Keep fees and commercial terms clear in the agreement. For a proposed European service, verify actual account availability before printing receiving details on invoices. A small, well-explained selection can produce a calmer customer experience than a long list of payment logos with no guidance about which route fits the invoice.

Imagine this

Hypothetical example

A hypothetical designer receives many questions about invoice references but few requests for another payment method. She improves the existing instructions before adding a new service. The change addresses the actual delay, and any later provider comparison is based on a clearer understanding of what clients need.

Make it practical.
