Identify the reason for retirement

A resource may be inaccurate, redundant or simply tied to an old organisational workflow. Record which task it covered and why it no longer fits. Check where the programme links to it, including follow-up notes and replay indexes. Removing one file while leaving the old reference everywhere can send learners into avoidable confusion.

Give readers a replacement path

Where a newer resource exists, explain the difference briefly and point to the appropriate current guidance. If no replacement is available, identify who can answer the task-specific question. Do not quietly reuse an old demonstration as if it reflected current availability. The proposed routine treats retirement as part of good teaching: customers need confidence that the reference they receive matches the work they are trying to do.

Imagine this

Hypothetical programme scene

Hypothetically, a company changes who owns profile approvals. The old training clip still names a former team. The programme owner retires that clip, updates follow-up references and provides a short explanation of the new approval route.

Make it practical.
