Make the decision
Separate profiles make sense when audiences need materially different information. A creator’s collaboration portfolio and a company director’s corporate contact page may serve different decisions. Write down what must differ: contact route, services, documents, language or employer information. If the only difference is a cosmetic heading, one well-organised page may be easier to maintain. Treat each additional profile as a commitment to review links and ownership over time.
Put it into practice
Design a small comparison sheet showing what belongs in each audience view and what should remain consistent. Names, current role and core credentials should not contradict one another. Test the exact profile selected before sharing in a meeting, and use labels that make the choice obvious. Keep confidential material in controlled sharing tools rather than assuming that a less-promoted profile is private. An obscure URL is still not an access policy.
Hypothetical example
A founder keeps a public speaking profile focused on biography and event topics, alongside a company contact page for sales enquiries. Investor documents are not placed on either page. The two public views have different purposes but agree on the founder’s role and company information.
Make it practical.
