Review the people in the evidence
Project photographs and videos may show employees, visitors or clients. Check the appropriate permission and publication context before featuring them. Consider whether the people are necessary to explain the work. A useful portfolio can often focus on the deliverable without exposing unrelated personal information.
Choose an honest alternative when needed
Use approved crops, suitable replacement images or clearly labelled illustrative material where appropriate. Do not alter an image in a way that misrepresents the project’s substance. The profile should present the work confidently while respecting the people whose presence is incidental to the story.
Hypothetical scenario
A hypothetical studio selects approved project images that show the completed environment without unnecessary identifiable visitor details. A separate illustrative image is labelled clearly when used to explain intended activity.
Make it practical.
