Choose a useful publication

Link to an article that genuinely supports the profile’s subject or contribution. Explain whether you authored it, contributed to it or were quoted. Those relationships are different. Avoid presenting a passing mention as a substantial feature or an independent validation of every claim in the profile.

Give the reader a reason to continue

A short description can identify the question the article addresses. Keep the profile’s own explanation accurate even if the external article contains outdated information. Where necessary, add current context rather than silently relying on an old publication to describe today’s work.

Imagine this

Hypothetical scenario

A hypothetical specialist links to an authored article about project handoffs and explains its practical focus. The profile distinguishes that authorship from a separate article in which the specialist was only briefly quoted.

Make it practical.
